The Economic Development Authority of Powhatan County identifies, promotes, and supports new business development which leads to increased economic productivity in the County. The EDA is led by experienced business leaders who understand the importance of customer service, defined strategies, benchmarked outcomes, and collaboration. In partnership with the Powhatan Board of Supervisors, the EDA is attuned to the County's strategic vision, and provides input on the goals and objectives that move the County toward that vision. The Powhatan County EDA is a separately chartered political subdivision of the Commonwealth, which allows it to act with business agility and timing. Read about our business success stories. The Powhatan EDA is staffed by the Director of Economic Development, who serves as the liaison between the EDA and the Board of Supervisors and has extensive experience in the functions of business development and local government planning.
The Powhatan EDA holds regular meetings on the second Monday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the Village Building conference room, 3910 Old Buckingham Rd. All meetings are open to the public. Notification is posted on the Powhatan County website.
The compensation of the members of any such boards shall be fixed by the governing body. Currently, board members are not paid.
